From Theater to Festivals, Algarve in November promises to be a cozy month of things to do.

We just finished skimming through the month’s list of events in the Algarve Guide and have highlighted our top picks.

Algarve Guide in November

Starting off – Calling all Chestnut Lovers!
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire - no, not the Christmas carol although Christmas decorations are suddenly everywhere, but rather Chestnut fever, has finally hit the Algarve. It’s official: Algarve chestnuts are finally here, and not a moment too soon far as I’m concerned! So, what happens when we Algarvios have a food we love and it comes in season? We throw a festival…of course! So November gets warmed up with “Roasted Chestnut Festivals” in a few cities. But as the saying goes; where there’s smoke there’s fire, couldn’t help myself, and along with these fabulous hotties comes a pairing of traditional drinks such as “aqua-pe”, jeropiga, new wine and if your really adventurous we suggest, the slow smooth burn of some serious aguardente!

The events are being organized in Monchique, Albufeira and Tavira on the following dates:

November 1st in Monchique

November 11th in Albufeira

November 11th in Tavira (our pick)

St. Martin’s Day Festival
A popular celebration to welcome autumn’s many local agricultural produce. This year, the city of Portimao will be staging this old-fair. According to the Algarve Guide for November:

“Entertainment is guaranteed with people exhibiting footwear, jewelry, toys, chinaware, and much more. And keeping with tradition, roast chestnuts and “aqua-pe”, “farturas” will be there waiting for you”.

ArgentineanTango
Tango concerned performed by the Argentinean quintet Tango Quattro.

Then again in Lagos:

Casino do Algarve Rally
There will be two adrenaline-filled days to share in the excitement of motor sport and watch the Super Special Stage in the Portimão.

      Hello

At Parque das Cidades, Loulé there will be the 1st Fair on Wheels (car boot sale) - A different day for everyone!
This fair will take place at Parque das Cidades on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 8h to 14h.
The inauguration is on the 18th of May.
This event intends to provide one day full of amusement to all of the resident families in the Algarve, stimulating them to come to the Parque das Cidades near the Estádio Algarve.
The objective of the “Fair On Wheels – A different day for everyone” is simple: whoever wishes to sell some second hand goods, will have to enroll and than a space will be handed in to them so that they can place their car and sell their second hand goods.
Regarding the visitors, entrance to the fair is free.
What will make this event so unique will be the fact of it being located in a beautiful scenery, outdoors, which invites you to participate in all different types of sports as well as others activities.
The easy access and the central localization are fundamental, which will certainly will stimulate all the visitors and expositors in coming down to the fair.
There will be entertainers, varied demonstrations, as well as the presence of many associations.

This event is being organized by Mr. Mark Walder, which has commented that “In England, there are more than 400 fairs of this type per year.
Our objective is to complement a fair, like, the Car Boot Sale - Fair On wheels - with other complementary activities that we consider are essential to the event.

We hope that all the participants take part in this event and that they can make their Sundays more productive and Fun for the entire family.

Car Boot Sale, do not forget the family, the roller skates, bicycles, kites; therefore they are essential in making it different day “.
Enjoy the Fair, buy and sell, discover the merchant in you “.
