Reggae in the Algarve

Reggae is one of those rhythms that gets under your skin, in your bones and moves you, whether you know anything about it, or not. Popular greats like Bob Marley, UB40, Barris Hammond, Patrice and many many others that have come to the scene since, touch universal cords about love, life and the human spirit, like no other sound. One of the many reasons I fell in love with the Caribbean, when I lived there.

Although the Algarve is far from the birth land of Reggae, our warm tropical weather and relaxed spirit of sand, sea and sun, often feel like a perfect second home for this uplifted yet deeply rooted, seductive rhythm. So, I was thrilled to hear we’re entering two weeks of Reggae sounds with severals concerts; one in Loulé , the other on Faro Island beach and another in Sagres with a collection of new artists mixing old and new Reggae sounds for us to enjoy.

    Ola Gwadzilla,

The Algarve is wonderful, but it has it’s issues too, as they say the grass always looks greener…

So consider coming for a holiday, and get both! :o)
