Stewed Peas & Eggs - Griséus Com Ovos
It feels like forever since I was in the kitchen. Taking time off after the holidays was nice, but there’s something to be said about the joy of banging around some pots and pans.
Over the last few days I’ve had an old Algarvian recipe stuck in my mind, so I must be longing for the old days of Griséus Com Ovos – Stewed Peas and Eggs. Yes, I know it sounds like a strange combination, but they’re very tasty and if you happen to be on an “all protein diet”, these little green morsels are a great.

Sabores do Mundo Restaurant - Albufeira
A few nights ago we ended up at Sabores do Mundo on the Albufeira Marina. Although we’ve been to Albufeira countless times, the Marina somehow eluded us. And now we understand why; when you first drive to the marina area, you completely miss the Marina! But, it’s neatly tucked away behind the brightly coloured lego’ish looking apartment complex, the marina is new and quite spacious with lots of walking and playing room for the little ones, which is always a nice surprise.
Along the marina there are a number of shops and restaurants to choose from, and that’s where you’ll find Sabores do Mundo (Flavours of the World). A modern Asian fusion restaurant with a crisp edginess in its décor, and their open kitchen lets you watch Alain the chef, in action from almost anywhere you’re seated.
Algarve Things to do in February
I’m gradually realizing, living in the Algarve is like being on an extended vacation. And this feeling always spikes at the beginning of the month when the Algarve Tourism schedule comes out, listing a wonderful guide of Things to do and See.
In this month’s guide, there’s no shortage of things to keep one busy, and it kicks off with Carnival, so if you’re planning to be in the Algarve - download the February Guide by clicking on the image below. Enjoy!
